SUMMARY:Community Qigong with Rakhee - Monday's
DESCRIPTION:oin me for Monday evening qigong in Boscombe – gentle movement\, deep breathing\, and stillness. A chance to arrive fully in your body\, release what the weekend left behind\, and meet the week from a place of calm rather than rush. \nEach month follows a different theme\, moving with the seasons and the elements. We explore traditional forms with curiosity and playfulness\, learning ancient practices that help us meet modern life with more ease. \nNo experience needed. Come as you are. \nWhat is qigong? \nQigong (pronounced “chee-gong”) is an ancient Chinese practice of gentle movement\, breath\, and meditation. \nImagine tai chi’s flowing grace\, yoga’s mindful awareness\, and meditation’s stillness – all woven together. You move slowly\, breathe deeply\, and allow your attention to settle. \nIt’s less about doing it “right” and more about feeling your way into each movement. Playful. Meditative. Restorative. \nYou don’t need to be flexible\, fit\, or coordinated. You just need to be willing to slow down and pay attention. \nMoving with the Seasons \nMarch: Wood Element \nAs the earth wakes and green shoots push through soil\, we work with Wood energy – the element of spring\, growth\, and new beginnings. Wood forms stretch and open\, helping us release what’s stuck and make space for what wants to emerge. Perfect timing as we move toward the spring equinox. \nApril: The Five Elements \nIn April\, we journey through all Five Elements – Wood\, Fire\, Earth\, Metal\, Water. Each element has its own quality and wisdom\, connecting to different organs\, emotions\, and seasons. You’ll learn sequences that work with each element\, discovering how qigong maps the body as energy and flow. \nWhat people say“I’ve never done anything like this before – it was extraordinary\, moving\, enlivening. I feel like I’ve found my thing.” – Sara \nDetailsDates: This is an ongoing class – each month explores a different focus\, following the seasons and the elements.Time: 5.45–6.45 pmVenue: TOSH\, Gladstone Mews\, Boscombe\, Bournemouth \nCost:• £10 per session (early bird until 2 February) You need to book a minimum of two classes for this price• £12 drop in if space allows or per session after 2 February \nBookingPlease book via Rakhee’s website: Monday Night Qigong Booking.

SUMMARY:BEAF Crit Night with Brodie Allen
DESCRIPTION:BEAF Crit Night hosted by Brodie Allen\, of Little Oak Prints\nGather with local creatives in a relaxed setting. Share artwork / WIP projects\, or come along to connect with others and offer feedback. \nWed 23 September\, 6.30pm-8.30pm at TOSH\nA supportive\, informal space to share work and gain insightful feedback\, hosted by Brodie Allen – the artist and printmaker behind Little Oak Prints. \nSeptember host\, Brodie Allen\, has been running her eco-conscious print studio\, Little Oak Prints\, since early 2024 – selling artwork in the form of prints\, cards\, and textiles both online and at makers’ markers and events. \nRooted in Dorset\, her artwork is inspired by the dramatic coastline\, nature\, and historic properties in the area. The rich history of printmaking and lino printing also plays an important role within Brodie’s practice\, and she is proud to continue these traditions. \nSustainability is at the heart of the business. “Everything I produce is either created in-house\, or by collaborations with UK-based artists and suppliers\, reducing my carbon footprint. I rescue clothes and give them a new life as bespoke one-of-a-kind wearable art pieces…. My long-term goal is to make Little Oak Prints a zero waste business\, ensuring the impact I have on our planet is as small as possible.” \nJoin Brodie for this small group session\, sharing your own work\, or simply discovering the work of others. Feel empowered with supportive and constructive feedback. Artists of all ages and stages welcome. \n  \nOSC: Crit Nights \nAre you keen to share your artwork – finished pieces or works-in-progress – with other creatives for useful\, constructive feedback? \nJoin us at TOSH for our bi-monthly informal Crit Nights\, formed as part of our artist development programme\, Open School Creative (OSC). \nShare your creative work\, ideas\, or concepts in one of our four informal sharing slots (5 mins sharing in whatever form suits you)\, or simply come along to discover new work and offer your thoughts in a safe\, supportive space alongside those from our rotating artist specialists. \nWhat to share? \nYou might share a current project\, or a past one that you’d like to learn from. You might tell us about your creative journey so far\, looking for advice on what to do next. You could show your artwork\, songs\, songwriting\, creative writing\, project ideas\, artist bios / statements\, graphic design\, interior design\, illustration\, storyboards\, film\, photography\, fine art\, portfolios\, website design\, event / workshop ideas\, ceramics\, choreography\, performance\, craft\, millinery\, jewellery\, costume\, product design\, animation\, a commission in progress\, creative research work… and more! \nWhat ticket type do I need? \nChoose a ‘Share Work’ ticket if you’d like to have some space to share with us\, or an ‘Audience’ ticket if you’d rather just see what it’s all about and offer some thoughts if you’d like to. Our Donation tickets support us to keep providing creative opportunities to the community\, and our Community tickets support you when you need it most. We want our sessions to be accessible for all. If you would like a free Community ticket for this event\, please drop us an email to contact@toshspace.co.uk for the ticket code.

SUMMARY:Bike Tool Library with New Forest Off Road Club
DESCRIPTION:How does it work? \nOur bi-weekly workshop sessions invite people to come together to learn skills\, share skills\, and spend time in the company of others at no cost\, contributing to the development of a vibrant community where people are able to access the benefits of cycling and the reward of caring for and maintaining a bike. \nWe have an inventory of bike stands and tools to use on your own bike. We’ll have some volunteers on hand to welcome you and share their knowledge of fixing bikes. \nFind us the second and fourth Thursday of each month at The Old School House in Boscombe. \nDrop-in from 7-9pm. Bring your bike and any spare parts you might need. \nUp to date information about session dates can be found on our Calendar.‍ \nCan I borrow tools to use at home?\nWe plan to  operate a tool loan system so people can also borrow tools to use and home in their own time. There will be an online system that allows people to log their items and for us to keep track of inventory. We’ll update our website once it is up and running! \nWe’re thrilled to have received funding from BCP Council to set up and run a Bike Tool Library\, along with our ‘open’ workshop sessions where members of the community can come to do maintenance and fix their bikes.\nWe want to continue building and empowering the cycling community we’ve built through fixing bikes. This funding enables us to purchase tools that can be loaned to members of the community to maintain and repair bikes at home\, as well as in the regular open workshop sessions. \nWe are building a space in which people can share their knowledge about bicycle maintenance\, repair\, and building whilst connecting with others with similar interests across a range of age groups\, genders\, and backgrounds. We want this project to break down stereotypes about who can repair and maintain bikes and encourage more women to feel confident fixing and riding bikes. \nIf you’d like more information about our aspirations\, read our full application to BCP Council here. \nI love this idea\, how can I support?\nThanks\, we’re excited too. If you have tools\, time or expertise to contribute\, reach out to us at Newforestoffroadclub@gmail.com. We’re building a team who can run the Tool Library together.

SUMMARY:Family Constellations workshop with Victoria Smisek
DESCRIPTION:Family Constellations is a way of revealing hidden dynamics within our family systems – both in our present family and in our family of origin. \nIt can uncover unresolved entanglements\, patterns in our family lines and ancestral or generational trauma. The whole intention of family constellations work is to restore harmony and balance in the family system\, which therefore can relieve us of our individual issues and unhelpful repetitive patterns (which will likely be a result of us unknowingly carrying burdens passed down unconsciously from previous generations.) \nFamily Constellations is a therapeutic approach which accesses things at the root level\, bringing resolution not only for us\, but for our children and for the generations to come. \nConstellations can also be made to explore internal parts of ourselves\, this can be particularly helpful when working with trauma. In a workshop\, I use different methods depending on what feels most appropriate for each case. \n* In this particular workshop you are invited along as a representative – knowing that you will get exactly what you need from the process in being part of other’s constellations. This is a profound way to be of service to others and to yourself. In being a representative\, the field can still reveal to us the hidden dynamics in our own family and internal systems.‍ \nFor more information: https://www.victoriasmisek.com/family-constellations

SUMMARY:Pop Up Choir Event
DESCRIPTION:Join Amy Hopwood one of the artists in the current exhibition ‘What Emerges’ and learn how to sing the song in her animation ‘River and fish’. \n\n\nFree event. Everyone welcome\, and no experience necessary. \n\n\n\n  \nAbout Amy Hopwood \nAmy is a Bournemouth-based musician and artist inspired by folklore\, fairytales\, psychology\, nature and the trials of being human. She writes\, sings and produces original folk songs\, often using thick blankets of harmony\, field recordings from nature and folk instruments such as tenor guitar\, banjo\, accordion and fiddle. She accompanies the songs with handmade drawings\, embroidery\, needle-felted characters and stop motion animation\, allowing her to stitch together both the sounds and the pictures of the stories in her head. \n“A winning thing” “Fascinating!” Mark Radcliffe\, BBC Radio 2 Folk Show \nAmy has always been the sort of person who struggles to ignore the elephant in the room\, and now\, through her songwriting\, she is able to sit the elephant down\, offer it a cup of tea and have a good old chat. Her playful storytelling might lead her listeners into dark places\, but always with warmth\, humour or stoicism. \n“Good music makes you think\, and this is good music” Tony Birch\, Folking.com
