SUMMARY:Community Qigong with Rakhee - Monday's
DESCRIPTION:oin me for Monday evening qigong in Boscombe – gentle movement\, deep breathing\, and stillness. A chance to arrive fully in your body\, release what the weekend left behind\, and meet the week from a place of calm rather than rush. \nEach month follows a different theme\, moving with the seasons and the elements. We explore traditional forms with curiosity and playfulness\, learning ancient practices that help us meet modern life with more ease. \nNo experience needed. Come as you are. \nWhat is qigong? \nQigong (pronounced “chee-gong”) is an ancient Chinese practice of gentle movement\, breath\, and meditation. \nImagine tai chi’s flowing grace\, yoga’s mindful awareness\, and meditation’s stillness – all woven together. You move slowly\, breathe deeply\, and allow your attention to settle. \nIt’s less about doing it “right” and more about feeling your way into each movement. Playful. Meditative. Restorative. \nYou don’t need to be flexible\, fit\, or coordinated. You just need to be willing to slow down and pay attention. \nMoving with the Seasons \nMarch: Wood Element \nAs the earth wakes and green shoots push through soil\, we work with Wood energy – the element of spring\, growth\, and new beginnings. Wood forms stretch and open\, helping us release what’s stuck and make space for what wants to emerge. Perfect timing as we move toward the spring equinox. \nApril: The Five Elements \nIn April\, we journey through all Five Elements – Wood\, Fire\, Earth\, Metal\, Water. Each element has its own quality and wisdom\, connecting to different organs\, emotions\, and seasons. You’ll learn sequences that work with each element\, discovering how qigong maps the body as energy and flow. \nWhat people say“I’ve never done anything like this before – it was extraordinary\, moving\, enlivening. I feel like I’ve found my thing.” – Sara \nDetailsDates: This is an ongoing class – each month explores a different focus\, following the seasons and the elements.Time: 5.45–6.45 pmVenue: TOSH\, Gladstone Mews\, Boscombe\, Bournemouth \nCost:• £10 per session (early bird until 2 February) You need to book a minimum of two classes for this price• £12 drop in if space allows or per session after 2 February \nBookingPlease book via Rakhee’s website: Monday Night Qigong Booking.

SUMMARY:Immersive Sound Journey & Gong Bath with Robin
DESCRIPTION:Immersive Sound Journey & Gong Bath\, with Robin Freeman \nDate: Every Friday evening\, 7.30pm-9pm \nPrice: £20 per session \nCome and join us for a deeply meditative immersive sound journey and gong bath experience with Robin Freeman.\nThese sessions provide a warm welcome and a safe space where you can come to relax\, unwind\, and just let go… \nAn opportunity for self-healing\, and for restoration of mind\, body\, and soul. \nEvery session is a unique experience\, and each week we work with different themes\, directions\, and intentions.‍ \nAbout me and my sound journey sessions \nI am a sound healing practitioner\, a gong master and a meditation guide. During my session’s i like to combine all of these to create a very unique and immersive sound journey and gong bath experience. \nI work with a wide variety of healing instruments and tools that have been very carefully selected from many different countries around the world. When combined\, these can directly and positively affect mood\, brain waves\, the nervous system\, and body chemistry\, with fantastic and profound results.\nThe sounds and vibrations that are created in these sessions stimulate the body to recreate its own harmonic frequency and help produce the alpha waves that are present within our brains whilst in a state of deep relaxation. All you need to do is come along\, lay down\, and relax\, as I guide you along a deeply meditative journey. \nDuring these sessions\, along with a large selection of healing instruments and tools\, I also use several very special gongs. These have been carefully chosen and induce a holistic resonance in the body and a spontaneous meditative state in the mind\, resulting in a sense of expanded awareness and wholeness. This is both restorative and healing. It is just what our body\, mind and soul needs to restore\, refresh and revitalise. \nWho are these sessions suitable for? \nEveryone is welcome! \nThese sessions can help with issues such as stress\, anxiety\, sleep disorders\, depression\, digestion\, chakra realignment and energy flow. They also create a perfect opportunity to set new intentions or release any burdens that you no longer wish to carry. \nMy sound journeys are also a great way to cleanse from any negative energy and emotional blockages. \nThe healing sounds and vibrations circulate around and through-out the entire body to calm\, relax and soothe. As a result of this it is common for the heart rate to slow down\, the blood pressure to drop\, and the breath to become calm\, peaceful\, and return to its natural rhythm. Once the session ends\, it is common for attendees to feel very relaxed and then enjoy a lovely deep sleep that night\, followed by a feeling of refreshment once you awaken the next day. \nSession times & when to arrive \nEvery Friday evening\, 7.30pm-9pm \nPlease arrive by 7.25pm (just 5 minutes before we are due to begin). This is when we open our doors to welcome everyone in. \nPlease try to avoid arriving excessively early as you will have to wait outside until the doors open. This is because we will be busy preparing the venue for the session and are unable to let anyone inside until we are ready. \nOnce we start our session at 7.30pm the door must be closed and locked to prevent any disturbances. We are unable to let people enter after the session has begun. This is only fair to everyone already inside. Thank you for understanding. \nWhere can I park? \nWe have a dedicated free carpark right opposite our entrance doorway! \nIf the spaces are full\, please do feel free to double park as everyone using this carpark will be leaving at the same time\, once our session has ended. \nAlternatively\, free parking is available in the surrounding residential roads. \nThe large Sovereign Shopping Centre carpark is also just a 3 minute walk away. \nWhat should I bring?‍ \nComfy clothing\, a pillow and some water to drink. You are also welcome to bring anything else with you so that you are as comfortable as possible during our session. \nWe provide yoga mats\, blankets\, and weighted eye masks for everyone attending. \nPlease feel free to bring anything you need to enhance your comfort. Extra yoga mats\, memory foam\, pillows\, camping mattresses\, thick blankets\, fluffy socks and cuddly toys all welcome! Whatever you need to be as comfortable as possible! Folding / reclining camp chairs are a great option for anyone with back issues\, or if you are unable to lie down at ground level. \nAdvisory information and disclaimer‍ \n– Gong baths are not advised for pregnant women during the first trimester. \n– It is not advised to attend if you have ever had a stroke. \n– It is not advised to attend if you have any psychological or psychiatric conditions. \n– It is not advised to attend if you have ever had brain injuries or brain surgery. \n– It is not advised to attend if you suffer from severe osteoporosis. \n– Please do not attend if you are under the influence of any recreational or psychoactive drugs or alcohol. \n– If in any doubt about attending these sessions\, please consult your doctor or health care professional in advance.. \n– We do not accept any legal responsibility for any personal injury or other loss arising from the attendance of this session and the use of sound healing\, Gongs\, vocal or any other form of instrument being used by ourselves. SUMMARY:Artist-led Crit Night hosted by Imogen Charleston
DESCRIPTION:Gather with local creatives in a relaxed setting. Share artwork / WIP projects\, or come along to connect with others and offer feedback. \n\n\n\n\nWeds 18 November\, 6pm-8pm at TOSH\nA supportive\, informal space to share work and gain insightful feedback\, hosted by ceramicist Imogen Charleston. \nNovember host\, Imogen\, is a ceramic artist and educator based in Christchurch\, Dorset. \nHer wheel-thrown wood-fired ceramic pieces are imbued with the story of the land\, incorporating foraged materials and wild clay. \n“Now more than ever we need to reconnect with the earth\, honor what it provides for us as humans. I have always spent time gazing at my surroundings on walks\, observing and collecting everything from shells to wild foods and far too many plastic bottles. These objects are a source of inspiration and imbued conceptually and physically into my ceramics. It’s natural evolution that I’d eventually incorporate clay from my local landscape into the pots I make.” \nImogen also runs Moon Studio Ceramics\, providing the opportunity to learn traditional craft skills to the local community\, and to the wider UK area. Imogen’s pottery experiences are open to both absolute beginners and intermediate potters\, with weekly classes\, one off experiences\, and mobile pop-up workshops. \nSustainability is very important at Moon Studio\, using a renewable green electricity supplier. To minimise waste\, all clay scraps are reclaimed and reused\, even the slip water from throwing. Glaze waste is also recycled. The studio has been awarded plastic free status by Surfers Against Sewage. \nJoin Imogen for this small group session\, sharing your own work\, or simply discovering the work of others. Feel empowered with supportive and constructive feedback. Artists of all ages and stages welcome. \nCrit Nights with BEAF \nAre you keen to share your artwork – finished pieces or works-in-progress – with other creatives for useful\, constructive feedback? \nJoin us at TOSH for our bi-monthly informal Crit Nights\, formed as part of our year-round artist development support. \nShare your creative work\, ideas\, or concepts in one of our four informal sharing slots (5 mins sharing in whatever form suits you)\, or simply come along to discover new work and offer your thoughts in a safe\, supportive space alongside those from our rotating artist specialists. \nWhat to share? \nYou might share a current project\, or a past one that you’d like to learn from. You might tell us about your creative journey so far\, looking for advice on what to do next. You could show your artwork\, songs\, songwriting\, creative writing\, project ideas\, artist bios / statements\, graphic design\, interior design\, illustration\, storyboards\, film\, photography\, fine art\, portfolios\, website design\, event / workshop ideas\, ceramics\, choreography\, performance\, craft\, millinery\, jewellery\, costume\, product design\, animation\, a commission in progress\, creative research work… and more! \nWhat ticket type do I need? \nChoose a ‘Share Work’ ticket if you’d like to have some space to share with us\, or an ‘Audience’ ticket if you’d rather just see what it’s all about and offer some thoughts if you’d like to. Our Donation tickets support us to keep providing creative opportunities to the community\, and our Community tickets support you when you need it most. We want our sessions to be accessible for all. If you would like a free Community ticket for this event\, please drop us an email to hello@beaf.org.uk for the ticket code. \nAbout BEAF artist support \nOur sessions aim to support our community of artists and their artistic development at all stages of their career. Our events and workshops are for artists interested in collaboration\, skills development\, community and networking. \nGetting to us at TOSH \nIf you are coming by foot or by bus\, take the M2 bus and get off near Boscanova if coming from Southbourne\, or the stop after Aldi if coming from Poole and Bournemouth. If you are coming by car we would recommend parking in the Sovereign Centre car park. \nPokesdown for Boscombe train station is a 15-20 minute walk to TOSH\, along Christchurch Road. \nTOSH has accessible toilets and kitchen facilities. If you have any access needs you would like to let us know about\, please feel free to email us: hello@beaf.org.uk

SUMMARY:Bike Tool Library with New Forest Off Road Club
DESCRIPTION:How does it work? \nOur bi-weekly workshop sessions invite people to come together to learn skills\, share skills\, and spend time in the company of others at no cost\, contributing to the development of a vibrant community where people are able to access the benefits of cycling and the reward of caring for and maintaining a bike. \nWe have an inventory of bike stands and tools to use on your own bike. We’ll have some volunteers on hand to welcome you and share their knowledge of fixing bikes. \nFind us the second and fourth Thursday of each month at The Old School House in Boscombe. \nDrop-in from 7-9pm. Bring your bike and any spare parts you might need. \nUp to date information about session dates can be found on our Calendar.‍ \nCan I borrow tools to use at home?\nWe plan to  operate a tool loan system so people can also borrow tools to use and home in their own time. There will be an online system that allows people to log their items and for us to keep track of inventory. We’ll update our website once it is up and running! \nWe’re thrilled to have received funding from BCP Council to set up and run a Bike Tool Library\, along with our ‘open’ workshop sessions where members of the community can come to do maintenance and fix their bikes.\nWe want to continue building and empowering the cycling community we’ve built through fixing bikes. This funding enables us to purchase tools that can be loaned to members of the community to maintain and repair bikes at home\, as well as in the regular open workshop sessions. \nWe are building a space in which people can share their knowledge about bicycle maintenance\, repair\, and building whilst connecting with others with similar interests across a range of age groups\, genders\, and backgrounds. We want this project to break down stereotypes about who can repair and maintain bikes and encourage more women to feel confident fixing and riding bikes. \nIf you’d like more information about our aspirations\, read our full application to BCP Council here. \nI love this idea\, how can I support?\nThanks\, we’re excited too. If you have tools\, time or expertise to contribute\, reach out to us at Newforestoffroadclub@gmail.com. We’re building a team who can run the Tool Library together.
