SUMMARY:Portals Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:Visit this new group exhibition at TOSH\, featuring local painters from our Access BEAF Network. The walk to TOSH from both stops is less than 5 mins.\nTrain – Boscombe for Pokesdown train station is a 15 min walk to TOSH. The next closest train station is Bournemouth train station which is a 33 minute walk or a short taxi ride or bus journey to TOSH.\nCar – Our free onsite car park consists of 8 spaces\, available on a first-come first-served basis. Parking at TOSH is primarily for workshop participants and studio holders. There may at times be available spaces\, however we would recommend allowing extra time in case parking is not available onsite. Alternative paid parking can be found at the Sovereign Centre\, less than 5 mins walk away. \nhttps://gotbeaf.co.uk/contact/ \nAbout the artists \nJaya Edwards is an emerging artist and recent Fine Art graduate whose practice explores themes of identity\, belonging and cultural heritage. Drawing from personal experiences of navigating multicultural spaces\, her work examines feelings of displacement and the complexities of cultural representation.\nThrough painting and visual storytelling\, she creates intimate narratives that reflect both individual and collective experiences. By exploring personal and universal themes\, she challenges perceptions and invites meaningful conversations around identity\, family and connection. Central to her practice is an interest in how cultural traditions\, memory and relationships shape a sense of self. Her art seeks to foster empathy\, encourage dialogue\, and celebrate the diverse experiences that contribute to our understanding of who we are and where we belong. \nRachael Lee is a painter whose work centres on the figure within psychologically charged spaces. Drawing on memory\, relationships and lived experience\, she creates ambiguous worlds that hover between the familiar\, the imagined and somewhere less easily defined.\nThe paintings invite a slower looking\, allowing the viewer to become immersed in spaces that shift between the recognisable and the uncertain. Figures appear exposed\, concealed or absorbed within worlds that resist being fully located.\nRecent paintings have become increasingly playful with space\, as figures and remembered fragments shift and transform through paint.\nRather than offering a fixed narrative\, the work leaves space for the viewer to bring their own memories and experiences. \nZsubilla has been living in the UK for over 18 years\, she produces art in her Studio at TOSH\, Bournemouth\, on the South Coast of England.\nHer practice is intentionally diverse\, embracing a wide range of subject matter\, from portraiture and the human figure to landscape\, abstraction\, and observational studies.\nHer recent abstract paintings explore the relationship between memory\, atmosphere and emotion through layers of acrylic ink\, acrylic paint. They invite the audience into imagined landscapes shaped by colour\, movement and light inspired by childhood stories about magical kingdoms. The paintings are intentionally open to interpretation\, and encourage people to discover their own connection with the artworks.

SUMMARY:Immersive Sound Journey & Gong Bath with Robin
DESCRIPTION:Immersive Sound Journey & Gong Bath\, with Robin Freeman \nDate: Every Friday evening\, 7.30pm-9pm \nPrice: £20 per session \nCome and join us for a deeply meditative immersive sound journey and gong bath experience with Robin Freeman.\nThese sessions provide a warm welcome and a safe space where you can come to relax\, unwind\, and just let go… \nAn opportunity for self-healing\, and for restoration of mind\, body\, and soul. \nEvery session is a unique experience\, and each week we work with different themes\, directions\, and intentions.‍ \nAbout me and my sound journey sessions \nI am a sound healing practitioner\, a gong master and a meditation guide. During my session’s i like to combine all of these to create a very unique and immersive sound journey and gong bath experience. \nI work with a wide variety of healing instruments and tools that have been very carefully selected from many different countries around the world. When combined\, these can directly and positively affect mood\, brain waves\, the nervous system\, and body chemistry\, with fantastic and profound results.\nThe sounds and vibrations that are created in these sessions stimulate the body to recreate its own harmonic frequency and help produce the alpha waves that are present within our brains whilst in a state of deep relaxation. All you need to do is come along\, lay down\, and relax\, as I guide you along a deeply meditative journey. \nDuring these sessions\, along with a large selection of healing instruments and tools\, I also use several very special gongs. These have been carefully chosen and induce a holistic resonance in the body and a spontaneous meditative state in the mind\, resulting in a sense of expanded awareness and wholeness. This is both restorative and healing. It is just what our body\, mind and soul needs to restore\, refresh and revitalise. \nWho are these sessions suitable for? \nEveryone is welcome! \nThese sessions can help with issues such as stress\, anxiety\, sleep disorders\, depression\, digestion\, chakra realignment and energy flow. They also create a perfect opportunity to set new intentions or release any burdens that you no longer wish to carry. \nMy sound journeys are also a great way to cleanse from any negative energy and emotional blockages. \nThe healing sounds and vibrations circulate around and through-out the entire body to calm\, relax and soothe. As a result of this it is common for the heart rate to slow down\, the blood pressure to drop\, and the breath to become calm\, peaceful\, and return to its natural rhythm. Once the session ends\, it is common for attendees to feel very relaxed and then enjoy a lovely deep sleep that night\, followed by a feeling of refreshment once you awaken the next day. \nSession times & when to arrive \nEvery Friday evening\, 7.30pm-9pm \nPlease arrive by 7.25pm (just 5 minutes before we are due to begin). This is when we open our doors to welcome everyone in. \nPlease try to avoid arriving excessively early as you will have to wait outside until the doors open. This is because we will be busy preparing the venue for the session and are unable to let anyone inside until we are ready. \nOnce we start our session at 7.30pm the door must be closed and locked to prevent any disturbances. We are unable to let people enter after the session has begun. This is only fair to everyone already inside. Thank you for understanding. \nWhere can I park? \nWe have a dedicated free carpark right opposite our entrance doorway! \nIf the spaces are full\, please do feel free to double park as everyone using this carpark will be leaving at the same time\, once our session has ended. \nAlternatively\, free parking is available in the surrounding residential roads. \nThe large Sovereign Shopping Centre carpark is also just a 3 minute walk away. \nWhat should I bring?‍ \nComfy clothing\, a pillow and some water to drink. You are also welcome to bring anything else with you so that you are as comfortable as possible during our session. \nWe provide yoga mats\, blankets\, and weighted eye masks for everyone attending. \nPlease feel free to bring anything you need to enhance your comfort. Extra yoga mats\, memory foam\, pillows\, camping mattresses\, thick blankets\, fluffy socks and cuddly toys all welcome! Whatever you need to be as comfortable as possible! Folding / reclining camp chairs are a great option for anyone with back issues\, or if you are unable to lie down at ground level. \nAdvisory information and disclaimer‍ \n– Gong baths are not advised for pregnant women during the first trimester. \n– It is not advised to attend if you have ever had a stroke. \n– It is not advised to attend if you have any psychological or psychiatric conditions. \n– It is not advised to attend if you have ever had brain injuries or brain surgery. \n– It is not advised to attend if you suffer from severe osteoporosis. \n– Please do not attend if you are under the influence of any recreational or psychoactive drugs or alcohol. \n– If in any doubt about attending these sessions\, please consult your doctor or health care professional in advance.. \n– We do not accept any legal responsibility for any personal injury or other loss arising from the attendance of this session and the use of sound healing\, Gongs\, vocal or any other form of instrument being used by ourselves. SUMMARY:Community Qigong with Rakhee - Monday's
DESCRIPTION:oin me for Monday evening qigong in Boscombe – gentle movement\, deep breathing\, and stillness. A chance to arrive fully in your body\, release what the weekend left behind\, and meet the week from a place of calm rather than rush. \nEach month follows a different theme\, moving with the seasons and the elements. We explore traditional forms with curiosity and playfulness\, learning ancient practices that help us meet modern life with more ease. \nNo experience needed. Come as you are. \nWhat is qigong? \nQigong (pronounced “chee-gong”) is an ancient Chinese practice of gentle movement\, breath\, and meditation. \nImagine tai chi’s flowing grace\, yoga’s mindful awareness\, and meditation’s stillness – all woven together. You move slowly\, breathe deeply\, and allow your attention to settle. \nIt’s less about doing it “right” and more about feeling your way into each movement. Playful. Meditative. Restorative. \nYou don’t need to be flexible\, fit\, or coordinated. You just need to be willing to slow down and pay attention. \nMoving with the Seasons \nMarch: Wood Element \nAs the earth wakes and green shoots push through soil\, we work with Wood energy – the element of spring\, growth\, and new beginnings. Wood forms stretch and open\, helping us release what’s stuck and make space for what wants to emerge. Perfect timing as we move toward the spring equinox. \nApril: The Five Elements \nIn April\, we journey through all Five Elements – Wood\, Fire\, Earth\, Metal\, Water. Each element has its own quality and wisdom\, connecting to different organs\, emotions\, and seasons. You’ll learn sequences that work with each element\, discovering how qigong maps the body as energy and flow. \nWhat people say“I’ve never done anything like this before – it was extraordinary\, moving\, enlivening. I feel like I’ve found my thing.” – Sara \nDetailsDates: This is an ongoing class – each month explores a different focus\, following the seasons and the elements.Time: 5.45–6.45 pmVenue: TOSH\, Gladstone Mews\, Boscombe\, Bournemouth \nCost:• £10 per session (early bird until 2 February) You need to book a minimum of two classes for this price• £12 drop in if space allows or per session after 2 February \nBookingPlease book via Rakhee’s website: Monday Night Qigong Booking.

SUMMARY:Bike Tool Library with New Forest Off Road Club
DESCRIPTION:How does it work? \nOur bi-weekly workshop sessions invite people to come together to learn skills\, share skills\, and spend time in the company of others at no cost\, contributing to the development of a vibrant community where people are able to access the benefits of cycling and the reward of caring for and maintaining a bike. \nWe have an inventory of bike stands and tools to use on your own bike. We’ll have some volunteers on hand to welcome you and share their knowledge of fixing bikes. \nFind us the second and fourth Thursday of each month at The Old School House in Boscombe. \nDrop-in from 7-9pm. Bring your bike and any spare parts you might need. \nUp to date information about session dates can be found on our Calendar.‍ \nCan I borrow tools to use at home?\nWe plan to  operate a tool loan system so people can also borrow tools to use and home in their own time. There will be an online system that allows people to log their items and for us to keep track of inventory. We’ll update our website once it is up and running! \nWe’re thrilled to have received funding from BCP Council to set up and run a Bike Tool Library\, along with our ‘open’ workshop sessions where members of the community can come to do maintenance and fix their bikes.\nWe want to continue building and empowering the cycling community we’ve built through fixing bikes. This funding enables us to purchase tools that can be loaned to members of the community to maintain and repair bikes at home\, as well as in the regular open workshop sessions. \nWe are building a space in which people can share their knowledge about bicycle maintenance\, repair\, and building whilst connecting with others with similar interests across a range of age groups\, genders\, and backgrounds. We want this project to break down stereotypes about who can repair and maintain bikes and encourage more women to feel confident fixing and riding bikes. \nIf you’d like more information about our aspirations\, read our full application to BCP Council here. \nI love this idea\, how can I support?\nThanks\, we’re excited too. If you have tools\, time or expertise to contribute\, reach out to us at Newforestoffroadclub@gmail.com. We’re building a team who can run the Tool Library together.

Jaya’s work is driven by a passion for creative expression and desire to give voice to internal experiences that are often difficult to articulate. By exploring personal and universal themes\, she challenges perceptions and invites meaningful conversations around identity\, family and connection. Central to her practice is an interest in how cultural traditions\, memory and relationships shape a sense of self.\nThrough emotionally resonant imagery\, Jaya aims to create work that allows viewers to feel seen\, heard and understood.\nHer art seeks to foster empathy\, encourage dialogue\, and celebrate the diverse experiences that contribute to our understanding of who we are and where we belong. The paintings are intentionally open to interpretation\, and encourage people to discover their own connection with the artworks.\nZsubilla attended an online course Mastery Program by Milan Art Institute (2022-2024). Recent group exhibitions include; ‘Easel rider’ and ‘De-fenceless’ in Nolias Gallery\, London in 2021\, Open up\, Nolias Gallery\, London\, 2022; Graduation group show\, Fabriano\, Italy\, 2024\, and a solo exhibition at Liszt Ferenc Institute\, London\, 2026. \n
